“What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.” – Nelson Mandela

Mandela Day - Day #2 2015

On Friday, 17 July 2015 two groups of volunteers from Gauteng and Limpopo made their way to Zamani Day Care Centre in Orange Farm. We came prepared with paint, brushes, party packs, home made biscuits and good attitudes.

For Mandela Day this year we decided to paint the town red, blue and yellow… The team of volunteers had so much fun painting the classrooms. We repainted the pictures on the walls outside and added some more colour – A big colourful rainbow and happy sun greets you when you enter the school grounds.

While waiting for the paint to dry, our volunteers started setting up the classrooms for the kids party. All the kids received a party pack with snacks and cool drinks. We also added new toys to their play corners.

A big thanks to everyone involved, especially our team who travelled all the way from Limpopo.

We can’t wait for our next paint project!
