The Us4You Foundation was invited to attend the Graduation Party of Plastic View School in Soshanguve.
On Friday, 15 November 2013 we made our way to Soshanguve with a minibus packed full of Christmas gifts for the kids (aged between 2 – 8 years) and Christmas hampers for the staff. We were joined by Christian Brothers’ College Mount Edmund (CBC) and Holy Cross Home.
The proceedings started at 10:00. The MC, William, welcomed us. Thereafter the kids all came together and sang a few songs, a prayer and lastly the National Anthem – all the guests joined in.
At Plastic View School it is a tradition to say a poem at functions. The kids were well prepared for this special occasion. A quote from the poem that surely touched the hearts of many – “Wherever we are going we will be a blessing.”
Each class performed a little piece before the graduation ceremony started. They danced a traditional dance and sang educational songs.
Finally it was time for the graduation ceremony. The kids were dressed in their black graduation gowns and caps. CBC’s Headmaster, Mr. Ross handed over the certificates to each graduate, and a special gift from CBC. Now the class of 2013 is ready for primary school!
After the graduation ceremony our team got all the classes together to hand out the Us4You Christmas presents and CBC party packs. The girls received dolls / prams, while the boys received cars / trucks to play with.
It was truly a heartwarming experience. A special thanks to everyone involved!
