“Another year has come to an end… It's time to say goodbye to the graduates, and send them out the door. With great hope and expectations for what next year holds in store.”
Emmanuel School of Hope held their graduation on Friday, 20 November 2015, and we were invited! Christian Brothers' College Mount Edmund (CBC) and the Holy Cross Home joined us again this year.
The proceedings started with a welcoming speech, prayer and songs. Each class performed a little piece before the graduation ceremony started.
The little graduates got dressed up for their big day. The girls wore the cutest white / princess dresses and the boys dressed up in their white collared shirts and ties. In pairs they walked down the pathway to the big tent where their parents were seated. They sang a few songs before changing into their black graduation gowns and caps. CBC's Headmaster awarded the certificates.
The Us4You Volunteers made up awesome Christmas gift hampers for all the kids – filled with toys, bubbles, bouncing balls and lovely homemade biscuits. Vodacom also sponsored pencil cases and stationery. Every child at the school received a Christmas gift hamper after the graduation ceremony.
The first graduation at their new school (and newly painted!) was a huge success. The class of 2015 is ready for primary school!
A special thanks to everyone involved and congratulations to our graduates!
